Margin element

In tunnel protection using precast concrete elements, the redirective-profile edge element, certified according to the UNI EN 14992 standard, is used as a dual-purpose element: as a permanent formwork, allowing for additional casting behind pipes and concrete blocks, and as a vehicle redirector in the event of a collision, thanks to the structure’s profile, which mimics that of a Jersey barrier. Crezza brings its expertise to this application, creating custom elements based on specific needs:

  • Elements Terminals (or End): these are modules with a profile that progressively lowers to ground level in a chamfering. They serve to prevent the beginning of the barrier from becoming a rigid and lethal frontal obstacle for vehicles in case of skidding.
  • Elements Transition: special geometric modules that connect the barrier in concrete to other types of devices (e.g., walls of containment or bridge barriers), ensuring the linearity of the profile avoiding the creation of obstacles.

This type of prefabricated structure therefore allows for a final result with a visible profile identical to that of the New Jersey barriers and performs the function of permanent formwork, significantly speeding up construction times with a final result qualitatively superior to that of traditional formwork and casting on site.
